Thank you for listening. If you’re interested in playing this song on the guitar as well, then here’s a tiny tutorial that is hopefully helpful. Don’t worry, you don’t need that much music theory to get started on guitar.
The chords to wish you were gay by Billie Eilish include the four chords Am, D7, G, and Em.
The four chords are played in this order throughout the entire song.
The six lines that you see represent the six strings on the guitar. The one on the very left means the string that plays the lowest sound, and when you are holding the guitar, it should be the string that is on the top. The one on the right is the one that makes the highest sound. The horizontal lines represent the frets, (insert pictures), as indicated. The black dots are where you should put your fingers, in order on each different string. The O and Xs on the top of the chord mean whether you should strum this particular string for the chord. For example, in Em, you will strum all the strings because there are Os on top of all the open strings. However, for Am, you should not strum the lowest sounding string, because that doesn’t match the chord!
