First, register as either a tutor or a student by making an account. Then, proceed to the following steps.
Tutors: Please email connect.study.admin@connectstudy.org if you still have not been approved after 24 hours of registering. You will know that you are approved when you receive a notification email regarding a shared calendar. If you do not have access to making changes to the appointment calendar, you will need it in order to create appointment slots. In the notification email, click “Add This Calendar.” On the left side of your google calendar, you should be seeing “Tutor Sessions” under a section called “Other Calendars.” Consider your free time, then create an appointment slot at those times. Make sure you set your appointment slots with the calendar “Tutor Session.” Please read the article or watch the video(soon to be uploaded) for detailed instructions on how you can do that. When you are creating appointment slots, please remember to include the following in the description:
- Title: The subject you will be teaching
- Description:
- Your name
- A short bio of yourself with your experience with the subject you will be teaching.(ex: I took a course on this subject at school)
- Requirements for the students, such as notebooks or other accessories they need
- The zoom/google meet link (as a tutor, you may use other services, but the aforementioned ones are easier to conduct). The google meets link will automatically be formed when you create an appointment slot.
Students: Schedule an online meeting with a tutor. Click “Schedule an appointment” below and select an available time slot of choice with a tutor teaching your subject. (For further information on each tutor, visit “Members” above.) Once selected, you will have the choice to write your needs in the description box. Go to your Google calendar for more information about the meeting.
- It is best if you choose the subject base on what the tutor is most experienced in, but you may also look into their alternative subjects
- You can choose more than one subjects if you really need it
- When you are booking an appointment, make sure to write down details such as your name, needs, or anything else that you may want your tutor to know about beforehand
