If you (as a tutor of course) want to save time and avoid confusion, this is the instruction for you! You don’t have to be tech savvy, nor do does it require too much work, and if you are to encounter any problem along the way, shoot the branch leader an email and we will help you as soon as possible.
This instruction is written based on the assumption that you had already been invited to the appointment calendar, and have successfully added the calendar to your Google account. If not, please continue to follow the instructions anyways.
Before anything else
When registering to be a tutor, please add your preferred subjects/topics to teach. Make sure you are fully comfortable and knowledgeable with your chosen subject. This can be determined through your final grade for that class (A- or higher would be suitable). The class you took should be from a school or an institution, not videos from YouTube. For tutors who desire to teach a certain language, please be aware and mindful about specific details in grammar rules and are capable to communicate thoroughly in basic conversations. Unless you are fluent in that language, be patient with the student and use basic vocabulary to start.
If you do not have access to the calendar (named: Tutor Session)
Please send an email to Clara at clara.shin52@gmail.com for permission to access the calendar. Usually, when you become a tutor, you should receive a notification email regarding a shared calendar within 24 hours, so please check your email.
If you do have access to the calendar
Please go to Google Calendar, and you should probably see something like this:

You can create an appointment slot by clicking and dragging on any date and time as long as it is not in the past. The interface should look the same as to create an event, you are just making an appointment slot instead.

If everything is setup correctly, click on “More options.” The following window should appear.

Please write the required information inside the description box, and keep the title consistent with each appointment slot you create.
Here is a template, you don’t have to follow it exactly, but base your version on this:
Title: {The subject you will be teaching: the one you are most comfortable with}
Description:
- {Your Name}
- Main subject: {Your Most Confident Subject}, Alternatives: {Other Subjects That You Can Teach}
- A short bio with your school name, grade, and experience with these subjects
- Requirements for the students, such as notebooks or other accessories they need
- The zoom/google meet link (as a tutor, you may use other services, but the aforementioned ones are easier to conduct)
Done!
Click Save if you haven’t already, and the appointment slot will be available for students to book!
